the joys of being home

I'm sitting on my couch in St. George right now while my mom is making me food. It's wonderful! I love being able to just sit back, relax, and not have to worry about work or school. Too bad I have to return to the great white north on Monday morning. This has been a really good break so far and it will only get better with CHRISTMAS tomorrow! As I've gotten older, Christmas gets me less and less excited which is not cool. Maybe it's because I don't really ask for anything anymore?

Last semesters grades are starting to roll in and I'm not excited about how I did. Probably the worst semester of my life. The C+ in Accounting 200 is a killer and I am going to re-take the class this coming semester. The rest will all be between A- and B+ which I think I can live with. My goal for next semester is A- or better in every class so we'll see how it goes. I'll be taking Acc 200, Poly Sci 150, Rel 122, Econ 110, and Math 119. Should be fun.

It seems that our little blog here is starting to gain some fans! haha even Michael is a reader! Now we just need to get Aaron to post on here a bit more.

finals finals finals........... suck!

First and foremost, I'd like to give a birthday shout out to Smalls. Our boy Josh is a real gem of a guy and it's a true pleasure to be his friend. I really believe that the true measure of a person is how talks crap on them behind their back and I have never heard anyone say anything truly mean about Smalls. He may do some pretty dumb stuff sometimes, but he was one of the greatest people I know. Happy Birthday little buddy!

In other exciting news, Aaron and I have officially signed our new contracts to live at Alpine Village for winter semester. Joining us will be our good friend Matt Beck. It's going to be pretty crazy with the three of us leaving together and speaking non-stop Spanish. I for one couldn't be happier at the prospect of having my own room finally!!!!! No more waking up at 1 am when Aaron gets home and he won't have to wake up at 6 am when I have to get ready for work. It's just a better arrangement for the both of us.

Finals are upon us and I want to kill myself. I set some pretty high expectations for myself here at the BYU and I'm just not going to reach them. I had a pretty bad run of exams to begin the semester and I've played catch-up ever since. Now that I've got this place figured out, next semester should be a piece of cake! For those that have been following along, I ended up dropping the Accounting stuff from my schedule. I'm still trying to get in the Marriott School of Business but I'm taking a Poly Sci course on the side to see how I like that. Anywho, its like 1 am and Aaron still isn't here, so I'm going to bed. Night!

Turkey Day

Connor here... I just got done stuffing my face with all the good things my Thanksgiving feast had to offer and now it about time for a little siesta! It's been a good trip home so far; I got to see my recently returned from the Dominican Republic friend Spencer Kennett, my friend and Aaron's cousin Hans Kirchausen, and a bunch of other people that I've missed since I started at the BYU. So as many of you have already heard, I managed to hit a deer on Sunday night. Yes, a deer! The entire front drivers side of the Maxima has been utterly destroyed and the side mirror is just kind of dangling there. It's been a sad few days as I've mourned the loss of my mirror and fender. It has been one of those "why me, why now" types of things that we all go through. I'll be leaving poor Maxima down here in St. George until my dad can get it back to ship-shape.

I have to work on Friday so I'll be heading back up to the great white north early tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to a weekend filled with research, studying, and homework. WAHOO!!!

A real jim dandy!

To start I must say that it is a true pleasure to be able to write a few of my feelings while living here at the byu. since this is my first post on the blog I will try to make sure that is a winner to get things started right. It has been almost two months since geesick and I moved to provo and I think he would agree when I say that it has been an enjoyable experience. I don't think that either one of us knew how challenging school would be, or how much time would be required of us to do well in accounting, chemistry, biology, spanish.. ect. The weekends are a definite plus to let loose and live the provo party life. In a recent visit from Jeffrey D, we were counseled that we should be doing our shopping at the byu creamery. We truly hit the jackpot when we walked down the drink isle and found the Mexican Jarritos sodas. We usually just call them "our beers." Since that point in time a collection of 45 plus empty glass bottles has taken over the top of our entertainment center. Since it is getting late and I need to finish up a couple things I will sign off wishing you all a happy thanksgiving. Until next time.

Saturdays

Somehow, after sleeping through class two days in a row, Aaron and I managed to get our lazy butts out of bed at 9 am this morning to go DO LAUNDRY of all things! I know what you're thinking, and we couldn't believe it either. Anyways, after a sweet guitar hero morning marathon, we decided to go on a little jog (how cute, right?) I got back before geesick because he IS a marathon runner and all so now I'm writing this update. Aaron had been in a bit of a bad mood this week because of a couple of females who will remain nameless, but was in much better spirits after last night. Word on the street is that he had a little run-in with one of the objects of his affection and her whole family and that it went quite well. He couldn't get the goofy grin off his face as he gave me all the details. I'm sure Takael will straighten out the story a bit for me since Aaron tends to "bend the truth" every now and again. As for my own female situation.......... let's just say its just about non-existent, which is ok by me for the time being.

I've been thinking quite a bit about lately about changing my major. I had kind of been pressured into Accounting, and it seemed like a good idea; but now I'm having some second thoughts. Math classes, in general, aren't my strong suit. I've been giving a lot of thought to going into Advertising, because it would combine business with graphic design which is something I'd absolutely love to do. History is also in the running but only if I decide that Law School is a viable option later on. Any suggestions about what to do with my life would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Halloween!

So this last weekend was pretty much the craziest ever. Thursday night was just chill and fun but then Friday was HALLOWEEN! Aaron, Smalls, Brad, Trent, Levi, Steve, Michael, and Myself dressed up in black spandex that had lights running up the sides with white masks, socks, and gloves. The lights could turn on and off as we pleased; a face that didn't go unnoticed. Anyways, we would go into the center of a party, circle up, and turn on our lights. We then danced around usually with Trent or Aaron in the middle. Once they had finished, we grabbed whatever girls happened to be there at the time and thrust them into the middle to dance with the whole group. Let's just say it was a quite the successful evening. The highlight for me was when some gorgeous, almost-naked girl started grinding on Smalls. He didn't know what to do or about 20 seconds or so and then I could see the idea hit him that all he had to do was just start thrusting his hips! Definitely made my night. Another highlight was when Michael had to physically pull Aaron off some girl and then give him a "Michael lecture" on the spot.... good times all around.

Saturday night was also a blast. Aaron and I took dates up to SLC to see the Bodies exhibit. That place was nuts! Especially when you realize that they were once actual real living people, who are now just chillin right in front of you. My date thought I was kind of crazy because I compared a few body parts to different foods... cauliflower, potatoes, etc..... After the exhibit, we went and ate at The Pie pizzeria. After living in NYC for 2 years, I like to think I know my pizza.. but this place was AWESOME. I could feel the grease running down my throat but I didn't even care. Although it might lead to a minor heart attack, I will definitely be heading back to that joint.

Sunday, we went over to Takael's for a little Sunday dinner. Takael cooked up a lovely roast with all the sides.. She finished it off with some Never On Sundae's which is now my new favorite dessert. Thanks Takael! Her and Karli came over later and Karli gave the ol geesick a littel trim trim on his "takes 45 min. to do" hair.

Bienvenidos!

Welcome to Connor and Aaron's blog! We're gonna give this whole blogging thing a shot and see how it goes. We'll be posting some good stories and experiences that we have here at the BYU. Aaron and I have been friends now since 8th grade and a lot of people say we act like an old married couple. Going on that vein, what better thing to do than start a blog together! For those of you who know us, you know you're in for some funny stories and sayings and a little bit of craziness. Welcome to our world!
